The film is a period thriller inspired by a true story. It’s the summer of 1939 and tensions between Germany and the rest of Europe are high. After the mysterious disappearance of teacher, Mr Wheatley from Augusta Victoria College – a finishing school for daughters of influential Nazis – governess, Miss Rocholl (Judi Dench) hires Thomas Miller (Eddie Izzard) as his replacement. As Miller attempts to slowly raise the alarm that something isn’t right, suspicion turns to him…
